Krispy Kreme
Donuts
For
those of you who don't live in the South, Krispy Kreme is a brand of
donuts. They're found primarily in the South, but, like kudzu, are
beginning to make their way north and west. I got my first bag of these
delicious donuts in Vicksburg during my trip and devoured them that afternoon
while driving north on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The cold quart of milk
rounded out my lunch that day.
Krispy
Kremes look like regular donuts and come in a variety of flavors (glazed,
jelly-filled, cream-filled, etc.), but they have a softer texture than most
donuts. Personally, I think they use more lard during the frying or baking
process, because I could taste the fat on my tongue for several hours after I
ate them. I didn't care, though, because they were so gooooood.
