Leu Family Tree
The
Leu Family Tree
I've
done a lot of genealogical research in the past few years and, with the help of
my Aunt Dorothy in Seattle, Urs Leu in Switzerland and others, and through
research that I've done on the Internet (see
www.FamilySearch.org),
I created the following family tree for my Dad's side of the family. For
privacy, I've omitted the names of living relatives.
My
Dad's parents (my grandparents) are George and Minnie May, shown on the bottom
left corner. The left side of the tree includes Minnie May's ancestors,
who settled in America during the Colonial era, just a year or two after the
Mayflower. Using the Internet, I was able to trace this line back 26
continuous generations to England in the 1250s.
The right side includes
George's ancestors who were from Switzerland. In fact, there are many Leus
today in northern Switzerland, although speaking German, they pronounce the name
"Loy." Urs Leu and my Aunt Dorothy were able to trace George's
line back to the late 1600s.
