This highway is on the west
coast of the South Island and, like many highways in New Zealand, is enshrouded with ferns. You see ferns just about everywhere in
the lush country of New Zealand. There are a lot of winding highways
in New Zealand so it's hard to travel very far in one day, but the road
system is well maintained.
