I'd wanted to visit Corinth, Mississippi for many years so I could retrace the footsteps of my great-great-grandfather, Ransom Myers, who fought here with the Union Army during the Civil War. Tommie Lee, a southerner and local Civil War buff, offered to show me around Corinth and I spent the whole day with him. Tommie's family has long lived in this area but it didn't matter to either of us that our ancestors may have fought each other here in opposite trenches.
