Also known as Uluru, Ayers Rock is one of the most famous sites in Australia -- and rightfully so. It's much larger than I
imagined, and also much more crenulated, with lots of undulations. I decided not to hike to the top of it out of respect for
Aborigine wishes. Instead, I hiked around it which, as it turned out, proved to be much more challenging. It took
me about two hours, in 100-degree heat, to circumnavigate "the rock." And what better way to celebrate a successful
hike than by having a kangaroo burger in nearby Yulara Village?
