68).  Dueling Warships    Anacortes, Washington (August 2002)

I returned to my dad's house in Bellingham, Washington in July 2002 after taking another road trip around the U.S.  I drove to the coastal town of Anacortes one day and hopped on the square-rigged sailing ship Lady Washington for a three-hour "battle sail" with another ship, the Hawaiian Chieftain.  This is the Hawaiian Chieftain firing a broadside.  Mt. Baker, which set the all-time world snowfall record a few years ago, is off in the distance.
